Thanks, everyone!
I've just finished Thorin's Company (plus Mr. B. Baggins, Esq.)- fully armed and armoured for the Battle of Five Armies. Each Dwarf has his signature 'hood-colour' somewhere on them. Thanks to Momotaro for the advice on Dwalin's beard! Since I will be using the Dragon Rampant rules, I decided to multi-base them and count them as a Unit of Elite Foot.
I will also be doing individually based versions of the Company in travelling gear for skirmishing in the future...

I'm also pretty close to finishing Bolg and his Guard- then it's waiting for my Oathmark Elves to arrive, and then this part of my Middle Earth project will be complete barring the gaming itself...

Arnor and Angmar next!

@Beefcake: Ah, cheers for that suggestion, I'll have a look for it on Ebay! One question- does the Dire Bear not have those large bony plates/spines on it's back, though?

Wonderful painting and basing, your LOTR themed figures are going to look great on the table. The mutli basing works really well too, wish I had done that?

Yes, they hide in caves and guard kobold mages.  ;)
I really does have the right attacking pose from the game doesn't it.

Once again, my thanks for the continued encouragement, folks!  :)

@Beefcake: Cheers for that- I'll have to have a look for him on Ebay! At this rate I'm going to have enough for a full unit of Skin-Changers!..

Part 4 is now up on my Blog, but here's a couple of photos of Bolg and his Guard for those who don't wish to wade through my waffling!

I seem to have missed your last post but had decided to check out your thread again after seeing your troll on the Middle Earth wargaming site (we are all giving away our secret identities on Facebook).

The dwarves and bear look great - I don't fancy the chances of those orcs!

Well, the Elves of Mirkwood are done. First game tonight!  ;D

As usual, here's a couple of pictures- more waffling about them over on my Blog, here:

Nice work on the elves!

I've always assumed wood elves wouldn't be armoured, but there's really no reason for them not to be, aside from figure manufacturers' habits... These work very well. I like the bronze tones, too.

Let us know how your game goes...

Wood Elves are not normally armoured, but I'm sure the Elf Army at the Battle of 5 Armies was. I haven't got the book to hand.

Anyway, great work!!

We played two of three Battle of Five Armies themed Scenarios last night- very close battles each time! Lots to cover, so here are a couple of links to my Blog:

Part 1 here: https://lead-mountaineer.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/the-clouds-burst-part-1.html

Part 2 here: https://lead-mountaineer.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/the-clouds-burst-part-2.html

@Severian and Nicknorthstar: Thankyou kindly! I can't see any mention in the book that the Elves were armoured in the battle, but I assume that they would try and protect as many valuable Elven lives as possible in battle- so armour seemed to make sense! Plus, there are no unarmoured Elves in the Oathmark range as yet...  ;)
