Thanks, Bodvoc! I hear you are a lord of leisure now- perhaps we will finally be able to get that game of Dragon Rampant in soon, my friend!

As soon as winter forces me to stay indoors more I will be back to work on this project in earnest...
I now have a Blog, like an actual modern-day human!

Yup, must get down for a game soon although my own Middle Earth project has stalled a little!

I do like that your Rohirrim aren't all green cloaks and running horse on the shields.

Great stuff.

A little more progress has been made on this project- Thorin's Company in traveling gear (yes I know they are wearing mail- but I hear that Dwarves make light of burdens!), individually based for small-scale skirmish scenarios. I had a great time building these fellows out of the ubiquitous Oathmark Dwarves and a few bits and pieces from other sources- plus lots of Greenstuff! My sculpting skills are certainly not perfect, but I'm happy with how they turned out! I tried to make each figure an individual, keeping close to the books where possible/applicable (with the major exception of Bofur, who I admit was inspired by the films) and with a certain 'role' in the group, and I hope my blurry photos show this... Now I need to find time to throw paint over them!

We have Bofur, Bombur and Bifur; Gloin, Oin, Dwalin and Balin; Nori, Dori and Ori, then Kili, Thorin and Fili. Finally, a group shot showing all their bags and baggage!

Those are fantastic. Don't downplay your sculpting or conversion skills they are excellent.

Your Dwarves here are proof of something Kev Dallimore said, plastic figures allow all of us to be figure designers. With a selection of Frostgrave and Oathmark plastic sets, you have such a wide selection of 'bits' that are so easy to work with, that with a bit of cutting, filing and greenstuff, you can make a multitude of original figures.

Bit late to the thread but who sells that lovely miniature you have for the witch king?

Also those dwarfs look lovely. are the heavily armoured ones earlier in the thread from the armoured dwarfs set that oathmark does?

Fenrir, your megalomania/world building surpasses mine (though I do have 11 scratchbuilt Mumakil and a 12 foot stretch of Rammas Echor :D). I'm loving your vision of Middle Earth which is similar to mine. Your collection is beautifully executed, bravo! keep it up. A 1:1 refight of Pelennor Fields beckons ;)
