My current project is a bit different to the usual scales I paint. We decidet to raise armys for Black Powder using 6mm miniatures. Unit wise we keep the standard strenght from the rules (24 dudes for a normal size line unit).
That way we not only pay much less but its also much easier to paint as the miniatures lack most of the details from 28mm ones (which always was the reason to not start napoleonic games in 28mm for me).
My basic army will consist of two brigades. One infantry brigade with 4 line Regiments, 1 light regiments and one flank regiment (all from the 42nd regiment of foot or Black Watch) supported by 4 cannons from the foot artillery. The other brigade will be a cavalry brigade containing 4 regiments of heavy dragoons (The Royal Scots Greys).
I already painted up all the line regiments and one regiment of dragoons. This leaving me 33 Dragoons, 45 infantrymen 16 crewmembers for the cannons and the cannons and general staff to paint.
These are not the best pictures and somehow the basing effect looks terrible through bad lightning.
the army so far
42nd Highlanders in firing line
infantry in marching columns
and in square formation
Scots greys
its really hard to take decent close ups of these tiny miniatures with a phone
They are most impressive at a distance ^^
hope you enjoy. C&c are welcome.
