34' Cruising Yacht
« on: April 24, 2018, 11:40:38 AM »
Following on from the popularity of our three canal boat kits, I've been working on a kit for a 34' Cruising Yacht.
There are options to fit sails, flaked mainsail and sail cover on, and I'm going to include a spare boom so she can be shown alongside or making way under sail. Mast, saloon roof, foredeck are removable as a single piece to allow access to the interior.

We have plans for more boat's of different sizes over the coming months, so interested to see how she is received. Just need to write assembly instructions, so should be available next week.

Yes? What type of boats? Any sampans or junks?

Well, I am happy to take requests, if any one else is interested in boats for gaming.

The next two things I have started working on are a kit to make a small tramp steamer (24" long), and a larger sailing boat to represent (72' Ketch) 'The Scarlet Queen', as I've fancied playing a Pulp Alley league based on 'The Voyage of the Scarlet Queen' for a couple of years now.

We will be doing another classic movie miniatures kickstarter in the next few months and the 'African Queen' was on my radar for that.

Let me know what you'd like and I'll see what I can do!

That looks very useful, and the other boats planned sound good as well.
Tutenes, Atque Cujus Exercitus?

I will be building a small wharf table, set in or around Macao so I am looking for boats like these:

Ainsty and Barrage make some Sampans in resin and Sarissa has a an MDF model but it is great to have a variety and neither make the slighty larger version which is more like a small junk. :D

The 34' Cruising yacht is modeled very closely on one of these!

nice addition to your range,

it will be nicer to add dedicated crew members both male and female, even some in period bathing suits!

Very cool. I could see myself picking up one of these.
If you are taking request. I’m in the market for African pirate boats.

I have started work on the Tramp Steamer but all requests will go on my to-do list.

African Pirate Boats - Is this Pulp Era or modern you are thinking of? Do you have an image of what you have in mind?

Cheers,

Chris

The tramp steamer in 1:56 could possibly have a few sales for use in a model railway: there's a small but lively group making narrow gauge railways and I'm sure some would like a tramp steamer for a dockside.

The kit for the 34' Cruising Yacht is available from today from our web site.

Here are some photos of her moored up in warmer climes.

Removable deck with access to interior.

Hull can be built as realistic waterline, or with greater height to allow placment of 28mm figures inside boat.

Cabin door / hatch can be modelled open or closed.

Sails can be modelled up, flaked over boom, or under sail cover. A spare boom is included so you can model two options and swap over.
