Great stuff - that last knight in particular!

Thanks. I’ve recently been bitten by the Arthurian legend-bug and bery much enjoy painting stuff that reminds me about all those books and movies I enjoyed as a kid.

High medieval romance and knoghts in an Iron Age/Post Roman world. The idea is to play Song of Arthur and Merlin with it!

For my 1000th post in this lovely forum, I have chosen another model from my current pseudo-Arthurian painting spree.

This model will represent Arthur himself as a grown man. Sadly, I had an accident with the superglue when I based him, and destroyed the paint on one foot. The repair is sub-par, and I will need to work again on him.

Anyway: Where can I get a suitable Lady and court for him?

An orcish knight. Will he prove brutal, yet valorous and thereby earn his place at the table round? Or rather join Mordred and his renegades?

Another orcish knight. This one is certainly poorer and has less elaborate armor. Yet, he swings a mighty broadsword, called Cleaver, forged by Saxons. Will the King aloow him to join on a quest?

Nice work! I particularly like the orc knight with the inscribed sword. That's a great skin tone!

Thanks! It's a relatively harsh highlighting up to a very light whithish-green in just three steps that's then toned down with washes.

What really amazes me, how many flaws become visible once you photograph your minis and show them here. I guess the rune-sword is in need for some improvement of the runes, while the eyes of the lower orc were not as well on target as I had hope... o_o

Maybe stick with the old Demonworld minis? I think the one you have chosen for Arthur is one of them as well.
The Empire range deos feature some knights.

Ral Partha is selling single minis as well as the bigger packs, depending on paintjob (and with a little carefull cutting and filing if you don't like the sword) this might work as Mrs. Arthur. Or maybe the one on the right with a greenstuffed skirt? Essex have some mounted ladies in their feudal & early medieval range, as well as (unsurprisingly) some knights- no idea how well they do scale with other ranges though.

For Morgana/ Morgain/ whatever some of the Ice Witches could work: 1, 2, 3.

Many, many thanks. Those links are excellent! I thought I knew the Demonworld range quite well, but I am again amazed just how good and extensive it is even though it’s one of the older lines!

A follower of the evil Lord Doomdark!

Again a magnificent Demonworld miniature painted for my pseudo-Arthurian (i.e. kitschy Romance/Fantasy with knights) projects.

Also finished the next bunch of chaos dwarfs, but need to take pictures.

A young Saxon warrior, noble, proud and savage. I plan to use Demonworld Thain as Saxons and Celts for a truly Arthurian feeling of high medieval knights in an Iron Age/Dark Age world!

The Greene Knight!

I used an old 25mm Chaos Knight to make him much larger than life. Even though the actual model does not resemble the painting that inspired me at all,the enormous size of the knight of this John Howe work was always in my head... http://theoddmentemporium.tumblr.com/post/21645666420/sir-gawain-and-the-green-knight-by-john-howe
