The Isles are my own dark little corner I carved within the larger Warhammer: Age of Sigmar setting. It is an islolated group of islands in a perilous sea somewhere in Ulgu, the Realm of Shadows. On the Isles of Brume, people live in numerous small countries - many of them just a single fortified town with villages that feed it. The rest is forests and hills and bogs, with monsters and barbaric, wild peoples roaming about. The largest of the Isles is known as Erebos, followed in size by Nys and Morros, and then many more smaller islands and rocks. The point is to explore a tiny, out of the way bit of the Nine Realms, far away from where demigod Sigmarines fight legions of Chaos in giant cosmic battles... I've always been one for small-scale, contained settings.

I started this a year ago, so there's plenty to show. I'll begin by introducing some of the factions I've come up with so far, and their warbands. There is more about them, and more pictures, over on Gardens of Hecate blog.

Some countries are ruled by necromancers. The Cult of Vvolos comes from one such country - Turm. They worship a mysterious Daemon Prince who calls himself Vvolos. The Cult's core is a council of necromancers.  This is Iulia Docta-Sophosse, necromancer and summoner, with her warband:

Folda is a feudal city-state inhabited by deluded Ghouls who believe themselves to be human. The sovereign of this country is Abhorrant Ghoul Queen Ligia the Ever-living, a vampiric abomination. From the ruins of a large castle, she rules over a population of ever thirsty blood-drinkers and ever hungry flesh-eaters. The Queen, bestial Prince Arpad, and their ghoul soldiers:

The kingdom of Volmar sits on a mountain on Erebos, and is inhabited mostly by Duardin and Kobolds. People of Volmar are well adaped to their high-altitude life. What their own efforts at agriculture cannot supply, they trade for the riches they discover in their mines. These are some Duardin warriors in ceremonial armour:

Ace - glad to see you posting here too.

You've done quite a few good iterations on those Hobbit goblin models, these are really good and I love the Duardin.

Wonderful stuff as ever! I think your blog is quite the best miniatures blog on the web, so it's great to see your stuff here.

It's all marvellous, but the ghoul soldiers are particularly, er, lovely.

It is WONDERFUL seeing you AND your incredibly inspiring work here. I have missed the folk on the Wyrd  threads at WAMP.
Your forest photo stage was the inspiration for my own photo stages. Your approach to fantasy & story telling are motivating in the extreme. All VERY WELL DONE!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Fantastic! I love the setting you've come up with here. I get the feeling some Mordheim miniatures will fit in well for some of these factions....

I think the dwarves are the best, those masks / helmets are really creepy looking!

I'm not a fan of AoS but I can appreciate top quality conversions and paint jobs. Your work is giving me a John Blanche vibe - very well done sir!
