AK 47 The Battle for Kimburi Junction ( part of a campaign)
« on: April 27, 2018, 07:46:28 PM »
Hi there, this is a continuation of our "The War around Lake Stanley" campaign thread. Unfortunately the original thread got nuked by the Photobucket debacle but it is here if you want to get the background (without photos)

https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=100483.0

You may remember that the army of The Republic of Zumri has invaded the completely peaceful neighbouring country of Zaio. in a surprise assault. Using their brown water navy they attacked at Emshalla Kimlassa. The battle there was fought between elements of the Zaio army that could be rushed there piecemeal against well prepared Zumri Naval units and marines. The noble but outmatched soldiers of Zaio failed to stop the enemy establishing a beachhead.  :(

It was expected that Zumri would advance West along the shortest route across the plain towards the capital city Jamesville. However, the devious untrustworthy eaters of the Sacred Porcupine have instead quickly advanced North, keeping close to the Zimba River for resupply and reinforcement over water, and fell upon the railway line at Kimburi Junction.

This time the battle will be fought by units of the Zumri Army.

Spoiler alert, for those of nervous disposition, the photographs (being rushed from the war zone) show many casualties.
In my defence THIS TIME I was attacking my main target & not an unimportant bit of terrain.
Much fun was had & that bit of real estate changed hands several times.
Both commanders thought they had won the battle & then, that they had lost it.

In his Imperial Palace, President For Life... Field Marshal Zebedee Lukaku will be watching events unfold with a keen and beady eye. Seeing fellow Dusky Napoleon's practising great strategy and tactics can only be beneficial to his great nation!

We the peace loving people of Zumri, are eternally grateful that the citizens of Growbostn are polishing their rifles.
If they ever learn how to shoot them, or even hold them the right way round, then we will start to worry.

Rifles ready !
The glorious army of Growbostn are here to teach the petty army of Zumri that they should pick on someone of their own size.
Today battle will be met on this field.

More reports of the action as it takes place, later today.
Growbostn free press will spread the word of the golden apple.

Zumri would like to make fun of Growboston's size, when they get some that is.
The 'Golden Apple' is rotten to the core.
We may even involve troops from our air defence forces, led by the great 'He Elephant' himself Rouge Dormier!  (Red-nap, shares
a first name with LAF's 'Faversham' & led Pompey to FA cup glory)

The battle of Khosi corner.....

So Growbostn troops turn up to help their neighbors, at the railway junction of Khosi, and it all kicks off.

Zumri troops appear all around and the Growbostn troops realise they have a fight on their hands.

Growbostn naval troops take control of the railway station.

They also send their professional troops to hold the central jungle section.

Growbostn light attacking force leaves the town and heads for battle.

Ex British equipment is everywhere, as they had a closing down sale at the Army and Navy store.

Zumri forces entre the field of battle, with their main drive coming thro the village.

But then the Growbostn force strike and start taking out the enemy.

The mighty Saladin force takes some pounding from Zumri T34’s, and the Zumri militia chucking motor bombs.

Zumri jeeps appear and take out the Growbostn light brigade.

Then the Zumri forces appear next to the railway station, but it’s far too late in the day for this and they are galliantly driven off by Growbostns girls brigade....

So a victory for the Growbostn Golden Apple brigade and a defeat for those jolly nasty Zumri chaps..

Great game after 20 years away from AK47, and once again great fun.
Sorry James Van Vodka couldn’t be there to see us drive off the oppressor.
Scones for the victors, and a final shot for the Growbostn Daily News.

Hope you enjoy the AAR, and hopefully another battle will be around the corner.

Signing off - Flatpack.
