"Stickiness" After Stripping?
« on: April 29, 2018, 03:45:53 PM »
Hey guys, I got some plastic miniatures in a trade and I'm looking to strip them. Unfortunately, after doing so they feel very sticky to the touch and the paint is turning more into tar than it usually does (where it just sloughs off).

I use Wilko All Purpose paint stripper.

Any ideas?

Is hte paint stripper safe to use with plastic? Soudns like it is solvent based and has reacted with the material. Not much you can do about it, I'm afraid. I hope I'm wrong!

I just checked on it after a second dunk and leaving it for awhile longer. It's all fine now. :)

I think I just hadn't left it long enough to break the bonds.
