Would love to some more pics of the Rommel game.
Please if possible.
How could I refuse
Actually we didn't take many, a little too busy, so this is all I have (a decided French bias!):
We have run the game before, using commercial rules. This time I knocked up a very quick and simple set, I think each game took about 30 minutes with the umpires running the French and players taking the part of Rommel and his sergeant with the aim of getting through the village asap. It's based on Rommel's first ever engagement, in 1914, the future Field Marshall Erwin Rommel was a 22-year-old Lieutenant commanding an infantry platoon and leading it into action in the early days of World War 1. He wrote up this action (and his other experiences in the book ‘Infanterie Greift’ (Infantry Attacks) as an aid to his students in 1937. There's an excellent Skirmish Campaign book based on this.
