Trouble at Karasawa
« on: May 02, 2018, 03:17:14 PM »
Got a game in last night and it was a version of Fistful of Lead that we are trying out called Fistful of Katanas (still a few things to sort out before it's ready).

The sleepy village of Karasawa was quiet with nothing much going on but on the outskirts a band of roaming ronin were looking for trouble.

Fortunately an ally of the villages daimyo was in the area seeking out the local samurai over the issue of splitting the cost of a meal from the previous week...

Quick as a flash, the ronin broke cover and charged towards the Murakami troops and fierce fighting ensued (apart form Yamada Arinaga who ended up chatting to one of the local girls).

Hearing the clash or arms a small Sanada force rushed into the village to see what the trouble was about.

Seeing that there was trouble in his village Sanada Yoritomi quickly charged into combat with his faithful retainers and made short work of the ronin (the dice being quite a splendid factor in helping this come about).

Unfortunately for Murakami Morokiyo, Yoritomi remembered about the splitting of the meal cost and also remembered that he and his retainers only had water. He saw this as unfair and set upon the Murakami troops with renewed vigour.

Vicious buggers these samurai  lol

And just to prove that the 'photo-bomb' trend isn't anything new...

Wholly unfair! Picking on your friends coz you didn’t have any Sake and just drank water. We didn’t have any pudding! lol

Good, fun game. The rules worked well. :)

Very nice. Maybe you should think about better buildings, e.g. from 4Ground  ;D

Jim fantastic set up as always :-*
Now these rules FFOL, it's my understanding that you need at least four players to have a game and they wouldn't really work with one player on each side, is that correct?

Nope, they will work just as well with 2 or 3 players.  We've done both 2 player and 3 player (all against all) and they worked a treat.

Thanks Mark, Im going to have to dig these out and have another read then, I've got the Wild West and H&M versions. I don't know where I got the above idea from I'm probably mixing them up with some other rules (age don't come on its own lol)

:o he's not going to forget that you know!  lol

I've played on those boards and can confirm that the buildings are excellent, so much so I bought my own!

I've played up to five players on Old West games on a 4'x4' board with no issues.
