Update front page news?

I only noticed the front page news today, as it's quite small and I'm usually scurrying to some section or another. I was joyous at reading;
"News: Round 1 of the Lead Painters League 12 is now open for voting. Please go and vote and show your support."
especialy as I really enjoy the LPL as a spectator and voter, but voting has closed....  :'(
