My First WWII since the 90's
« on: May 08, 2018, 02:19:58 AM »
Greetings Folks,
WWII was my favorite era for a long time and I played many, many games over 20 odd years. But I stopped wargaming in the mid 90's for some reason until I resumed in 2004. But I haven't played WWII, mainly due to the rules in use (I didn't/don't like most of them). But last weekend I had my first WWII since that time using Battlegroup using the Barbarossa source book.

I really enjoyed the game and I did a battle report on my blog at: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com.au/2018/05/one-day-on-russian-front.html
Please have a read.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

There are some wonderful pictures in the report; I enjoyed them and it looked like a fun game.

A big warm welcome back is in order too.

Where these 28mm or 20mm?  They look like the latter, but your blog title indicates the former is your favourite.

Thanks Tim. 20mm. In my opinion 20mm (1:72 / 1:76 / HO) is the only scale for WWII. I know it's bias but I started with WWII back in 1976 with Airfix figures, models and rules and it just seems right to me.

Similar background here, maybe a couple of years earlier.  It let's me pretend to be a modeller who plays with his vehicles and figures after their done!
