Ey! thanks , I saw the announcement earlier this year, great news! Although, as you say, too early for this project, but not for my 30 years war project ;)

Hi guys, several months without updating this post... sorry!  You have the latest updates here:

https://spanishleadpainting.blogspot.com/2019/09/late-xvii-c-tercio-de-barcelona.html

In this time I have painted or retouched or rebased some units from 30 Years War and Grand Alliance War such as these:

-TYW French command base, with a Field Marshall and officers

-TYW French conversion cavalry and artillery (ex ECW and ex Swedish)

-TYW Spanish gun

-Grand Alliance War Spanish Tercio,  "Tercio de Barcelona"

I hope you like them!

-French TYW

"Dauphin Gendarmes" painted by Peter Walker, and rebased, flag and white sashes by me
French saker gun (painted by me as Swedish, now French)  lol

Spanish TYW Gun

Finally Tercio de Barcelona , 1680-1697

Cheers!

Hi guys,

Hi guys, I have just updated my blog:
https://spanishleadpainting.blogspot.com/2020/02/finished-another-late-tercio.html

Some months ago I started to paint a unit for my Spanish army, suitable either for 1670 or League of Augsburg War,  using mainly Front Rank miniatures, you can see the previous post here:

https://spanishleadpainting.blogspot.com/2019/04/front-rank-conversions-in-28mm-for-1670.html

So finally I managed to finish it, a Provincial Tercio, made up of recruits, and ready to fight in Catalonia against the French. Also could they could be used in Flanders, as the uniform was (mostly) off white and red in several Tercios of the Army of Flanders.

In order to give some colour variation, I used 3 different recipes to paint the off white;  Artic Grey (Foundry), Rakarth Flesh (Citadel), Stormvermin Fur (Citadel).

I really like the way it looks, with those Front Rank miniatures of their "Monmouth rebels" range intermixed with the more professional look of the regular infantry of their late 17c  range.

So here you have the pics of the finished unit:
