PSC Churchill Mk.IV (15mm)
« on: May 09, 2018, 03:57:19 AM »

Here's the first of my 15mm (1/100) Churchills from the Plastic Soldier Company in its coat of paint. I've painted it in a very generic scheme that I can use for Tunisia, Italy, or even Normandy. There are no unit markings (as yet), I may add some later on if I feel the spirit move me.

You know for a 15mm kit that's a bloody marvellous looking item. I like the subtle understatement of your paint job, the tones and shading are great. Not a victim of mad chipper disease either.

That's splendid - the paint is just right, and inspiring as I have three Churchills to paint.  8) 8) 8)

Quite a spectacular paintjob! Love the subtle highlights and muted colours.
Since I'm going to paint some British tanks myself, a word on paints (brands) and techniques you've used here would be much appreciated. :)

Lovely job.

Did you have any problems with fill issues on the side hatches?

No, none at all.

All paints are Vallejo ModelAir or ModelColor. The base colour is Mike Starmer's recipe for KG#3, but it's been substantially lightened by dusting and panel-highlighting with the airbrush, with VMA Grey Green and VMC Buff.

Shading is all done with Citadel Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil. Highlighting is mainly via dry-brushing in VMC Buff.

Chipping is done with a sponge, with Vallejo Dry Rust, and the larger chips highlighted with VMA Grey Green.

Superb painting  as always, your style makes 15mm vehicles  look very realistic, wish I could do half as well!
