Wonderful concepts and execution.
Hope you do well with those... seems like the LAF crowd is anxious.

They look great and the research has obviously been thorough - well done.....!

Nice.
Unfortunately I now have an "a-ha" track playing in my head.
What does this mean? I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to expand my knowledge of popular culture.

Although similar in appearance to WW2 Paratroop helmets,  the classic "Puddin Bowl" motorcycle dispatch rider helmets were made of fabric covered cork and date back at least to the 1930s.  So your depictions are accurate for pre-early WW2.

Nice work Mark!

I will add my voice to the clamouring hordes asking for Battle Bowlers and Brens too. Gas mask satchels 'at the ready' might be fitting too.

:)

That said, the helmet looks rather like the Interwar RTC helmet and certainly having the option for M/C riders, both mounted and dismounted, or even some vehicle crew with them too, gives me thoughts of an 'experimental unit', in the same way as the French mechanised forces had their own helmet.

IIRC correctly there were six TA Motorcycle Battalions created to substitute for 'Divisional Cavalry Regiments' after 1938, so very much a 'must-have' for Early WWII, Op Sealion and VBCW fanatics.

Really like this project's subject matter and the potentially available products.

Really, really like some of the great reference photos this thread has generated.

Now, if they were only available in 20mm.

Cheers,
Bill

Well I'm glad you like them. Which means you'll probably like the Austin 7 that goes with them. ;)

I heard that, superb Sir!

I wondered if you would consider creating a Wolseley Ten Four Police car as I have searched high and low and diecast versions are mainly 1/43 and around £75 to £140. The reason for their use is I have recently read about the Home Defence units in 1940 and came across the four man Police units, Police Armed Response Force. Figures are no problem as there are plenty around but we lack a suitable ride for these gallant chaps.

Bikes are lovely and there's an Austin 7 coming too?  Will be picking some up when they're out.

Careful, if you make it he'll only want a Commer 'Black Maria' or something like that after it, mark my words!  ;)
