Flesh Tearers Revisited
« on: May 12, 2018, 04:11:58 PM »
Whilst going through my plastic/lead storage boxes I recently found some Flesh Tearers that I began work on back in 2011. Deciding that I quite liked the look of them I pulled them out of storage and touched up their paint jobs to more modern standards; in particular paying attention to their assorted  powerblades.

Annoyingly Sanguinary Priests in eighth edition have considerably less options than they did in fifth edition when I made these models; including limited weapon options and no longer having access to Terminator Armour. As such a few quick fixes were needed:

For the power armour models I simply snapped off the warrior’s apothecary/reductor arms and gave them both plasma pistols instead; now thee two guys will make some useful Lieutenants in my force.

For the sanguinary priest in terminator armour I replaced his reductor with a new left arm that I painted silver and added a Deathwatch shoulder pad to. This guy will now be the Captain of my first company and will have a suitably impressive back story as a veteran warrior who has previously been seconded into the elite Kill Trams of the Deathwatch... cool!

They look great.  I love the old MKIII armour on them too.

Cheers Guys! Yeah I really like the older morelsof power armour. In fact every model in the force wears either Mk II, III, IV or VI armour! And Heresy era weapons too

Nice clean painting style you've got there and the faces are particularly characterful.

Thanks guys.

The red is a mix of the old mechrite red and red gore washed with badab black and Baal red.
