Very nice James

I like how you’ve got the main elements of the original sketch onto a smaller footprint without it looking cramped while retaining the overall vision. That can be difficult to achieve.  8) :-*

Thanks chaps  :)

But printing the windows is cheating!

Shhh, I won't tell if you don't  ;)

Thanks  :)

Started work on the outer walls. Still needs a bit of filling and fiddling though. I’ll make a start on the gatehouse tomorrow.

all looks very good except perhaps the support pillars inside the walls rather than outside but you probably have your reasons for that

I've seen a few that have them on the inside but also my thought was that the builders were going to make it higher with the inclusion of a stables/shed but the money ran out and so the owner had to settle for a short wall with a couple of protrusions  lol

Nice section of wall. Is the core resin or foam?

Internal buttresses would make sense as counterforts to support against lateral force exerted from the outside of the wall.

Sorry Gary, missed this. It's foamcore for this one but the next might be foamex (high impact density polystyrene I think).

Thanks. They have been machined from chemiwood (hard, resinous compound) and then distressed by mashing them together with some concrete scraps.

Should have the gatehouse roughed out later today.

Still working on the gatehouse (wasn't happy with the shape of the first go) so I’ve painted the Norman walls and started to add the windows. The windows have had no cleaning after coming off the printer. The mesh at the back is brass and added afterwards (along with the black card). The main window is lasered with microstrip details.
