Excellent work.  I like the idea of the old and new sections fitting together.  The woodwork is particularly fine.

The stone colour depends on the location a lot of the time. You'll see grey much more frequently in the north of England, large parts of Wales and in Scotland.

I know that architectural modelling quite often uses good cardboard to build from , but are there any other reasons you used it or was it just at hand when you start? This material tends to warp easily when using plaster or a wet colour mix on it (which you didn't), but it's easy to work with on the other hand.

I quite like the ease of being able to make the shapes and long walls slightly wonky, gives it a sense of realism  :)
