I look forward to seeing more of your blog. My pal and I are also planning on doing War of 1812 in a small way. However, us being in the UK the Brigade figures are not available and the Knuckleduster ones work out rather expensive (I have bought a few).
So a bit of ingenuity and conversion will be the order of the day for us. Over here Caliver Books do a small US 1812 range in 28mm, they are quite good and match with everything else

Of course we have lots of British Napoleonic ranges for the British side.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

We mainly used Victrix & Perry plastics with alternative paint jobs. Although we did collect together all the bicorned heads we could find to field a fancy looking New York unit
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

IMHO The Old Glory 1812 Americans are their best sculpts in their entire range. Back whenever Foundry moved and ran their clearance sale, I loaded up on their 1812 line.  I was pleasantly surprised when I bought some of the Old Glory sculpts and found them to be just as good as the Foundry stuff.

I would email OG and ask for samples. I know that the original OG production molds were burning out several years ago and the figures were full of flash. I do not know if they ever replaced them.

Great stuff!  Very inspirational.  This is a period I have wanted to game for a long time.  I am running out of excuses.

I've been very slowly building up 1812 forces using Sash and Saber in 40mm. There's a good variety and they aren't that much more expensive than 28mm. Just take longer to paint.
