The great crusade into the cold, cold north
« on: May 14, 2018, 04:55:43 PM »
A new project.

The Idea:
The year is 1218. One century ago whole Scandinavia has fallen under an Ice Age. But now the first parts of Schonen are warm enough that even men from the four southern kingdoms can make expeditions into the North to find old arcane treasures, seize ruins and conquer the land.

Rules will be Dragon Rampant and Frostgrave.

The Southerners:

and their enemies. the barbarians

For the medieval characters decals were used bought from https://www.tsminiaturen.de/.

These decals are nice, but they are a little bit limited because only three different decal sheets are available.

Then the idea came up to make some own coat of arms.
I have bought water slide paper from Mr Decal Paper, print it with normal settings using my old HP Deskjet 3055A, sprayed it two times with Army Painter Matt Varnish.
This are the first results....

I'm not really satisfied yet...

I'm liking your vision for this project.  Good use of Frostgrave plastics.

Thank you very much for your comments!

A small update of the project. The campaign will see three to four players making their way to the cold, cold North and a gamemaster Managing the Forces of the North. So everyone needs his own retinue and a ship...

Nearly all miniatures still need a lot more painting...

Awesome project, awesome terrain, and great inspiration all around. I'd love to see in-depth updates on your campaign as it progresses; consider me hooked. :)

Awesome project. And the decals are looking great!  8)

What Revell ships are you using as a base for your cogs?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
