Onsen - Complete! - page 4
« on: May 15, 2018, 06:23:34 AM »
Another little commission on the go of a Japanese spa or onsen. It's a bit made up as there's not much info I could find about a spa for the sengoku period and having to shrink down to the requested base size means it has to be fairly compact.

The sketch should make sense for the layout and I've started on the buildings. The vast majority of the rest will be ground work.

cheers

That's a good start. It'll be interesting to see how you take on the pool. I've no doubt it'll be good though!

Kabab sticks  ;)

And no, they don't scale right (to my eye). Will be painting the buildings today (the woodwork at least) but still pondering the best fence solution. I've got plenty of Japanese examples it's just a matter of choosing what feels right for the project.

Very interesting build - thanks for sharing.

Like Paperschnitzel, I could do with a day relaxing in an onsen. Fat chance of that around here though.  :(

Depending on what style of fence you'll settle on, maybe some cheap bamboo or seagrass placemats might work- either cut to size or as source for raw materials?

Thanks again  :)

Started painting the buildings and bits until the fence gets resolved.

No, because they look like what they are unfortunately.
