After seeing Jim's thread on his Endor trees I thought I'd give it a go myself. Almost all of my resources from this came from the bathroom (apart from the PVA glue, and the brown stuff. That's paint) I used toilet rolls as the trunk. I cut up a box from a new shower rose for the roots and base. I used toilet paper for the bark effect. It worked a lot better than I expected. I then painted it all in watered down PVA followed by painting and drybrushing.
After doing 9 of these I remembered I had a tube from a roll of newsprint (perks of being a teacher I guess) I had to get out my jig saw to cut it and it took a surprisingly long time. It is still drying but I'm looking forward to painting it. The next one I do I think I'll cut a little hole in it to make it have an interior. You can see how big it is in the background of the second and third photos.
All trees unfinished. I'm thinking of getting a leaf cutting tool and sprinkling that around the base. Also need to put a weight in the bottom of each (maybe a rock and then stuff TP on top of that. And then create some sort of lid, probably just Styrofoam.
