Me and my buddy are thinking of bringing in captains into our games. I was curious what models you guys have been using for a captain. (trying to get some good ideas)

Give a model a pointy enough hat and anyone can be a Captain...

Its just someone who doesn't look as generic as the rest. If you have plastic figures go buy a metal one. Try and hold the aesthetic together of course to make them look like they're from the same place as the others. Or don't, and they can be some fancy foreign mercenary, or wearing expensive clothing to make them stand apart.

If all your soldiers are in leather and cloth give the captain a breastplate or something. Or just a cool hairstyle. Some piece of equipment which makes them distinct would do. Go buy a viking nobleman figure, or fantasy hero (or villain) and they'll probably look a bit different from your average thug.

Yup, go search for a figure that stands out, or as W comments, use plastics and then upgrade them in some way, green stuff a furry cloak, add shield, or as I am about to do add bow and quiver - I tracked down some metal conversion packs from Alternative Armies and they arrived yesterday.

I also use the Knight figure from Northstar as one of my captains.

Foundry do medieval characters that are suitable as well.
Wandering stars, for whom is reserved, the blackness, the darkness forever.

Depending on what you are using for your crew, the old GW Empire Militia sprue contains some useful figures (and bits).
This is built just from the sprue.

I think it might also be the Mordheim sprue.

I use the captain models from the official Frostgrave line. They are nice.
