Stronghold Miniatures - UK Anyone in Touch with Mike?
« on: June 02, 2018, 09:22:17 PM »
I haven't checked in on him, and/or Stronghold in about a decade, or so, I suspect.

I believe the proprietor's name was Mike.

Anyone seen, heard from, or in touch with him lately?

I'm interested in some of the old, 1/300th scale, SDD Modern Fighter Jets, as well as the 1/600th range of SDD Coastal Forces Craft.

Would love to see one, or both ranges made available to gamers again.

Specifically, I'm especially looking for some 1/300th scale, SDD, F4 Phantoms.  I believe they might have a couple of variants.

The one I'm especially in need of is #33 (belly marking imprint), which is a short-nosed variant - probably a UK mod. Phantom.  Of course, I'm also interested in F-4Es, and/or other variants too, if anyone has those in storage, and is willing to trade, or sell them.

I can also use some Mirage IIIs, and Mig-21s too, from SDD.

I can be reached at:

Coincidently I was thinking about SDD/Stronghold recently myself. The last I heard, which must have been 5-6 years ago, was that he was very unwell & not re-opening at that stage. Don't know more than that.

I speak to him on Facebook now and then but I don't believe he is in business nowadays.

Can you convince him to sell off his masters? :)

Glad to hear he is still around.

Please tell him hello.

I'd love to see him sell off, lease, or get a third party to produce some of the much coveted ranges of minis he used to produce, e.g. the 1/300th scale SDD aircraft (probably a bit dated now, but still some useful minis from this range), 1/600th SDD Coastal Forces vessels, and the 15mm and 25mm pirate ships.

15mm and 25mm castles would be nice too, since IIRC, they were quite nice offerings back in the day.

Also interested in the 1:600 coastal vessels and his 15mm and 25mm fortifications and buildings.  Anyone been in contact with him via Facebook?  If someone would like to give me his full name, I am happy to get in touch with him.
No plan survives first contact with the dice.
