Finishing my Khartoum build - three years later

Finally got round to starting my 28mm build of Khartoum (actually any middle eastern city) and the first shots of the layout and first tile are now complete

That is looking very cool. Where are the buildings from?

The place also looks like a good place to crash a Blackhawk.

On an historical point of needless nitpickery, I don't think Khartoum has ever been a walled city. It's a bit too new for that.  The defences at the the time of the siege were earthworks, a mile from the city.

But it's still a lovely and versatile piece of kit.

You're mad. Absolutely mad. I like it! That will be very impressive when finished. I hate to think of the price (15mm would be expensive enough but 28!)

The buildings in the centre of the town, where are they from?

Will post up links in the next post...the centre ones came from a company called red vector (I think)

yes.  and the only big, and multi story building was the massive governors residence.

But it's great work here.  and besides, I've never seen two Lhartoum tables that looked anything alike   :)
