Does anyone know what the forum rankings are?

As they seem to be Pulp inspired are they still relevant given the general nature of this forum?

Do we need or want forum rankings?

It appears you know what they are, as it seems you want rid of them by what you say later in your post. So I'm a bit confused as to why are you asking what they are. I can only guess that you have received no responses because everyone is as confused as I am about what the question is, and what the issue is here. Are you talking about the titles you get based on your post-count?

Those are, in ascending sequence:

Elder God

I guess most folks don't care about them, especially since you can define your own custom title if you feel so inclined.

It's the sort of thing that will interest the sort of folks who find that sort of thing interesting, I guess.

As I recall, custom titles are something only admins can do. The Prof gave me mine. The hipster in me quite liked that not many people had them but I did have one.

That's how it used to be, anyway.

Yeah, the custom title is at the top. Mine is "The Royal Bastard." Please refer to my post above. We have never, to my knowledge, had the ability to make our own custom titles. It's an admin power.

Personal text is a different thing.

They’ve been with us from the outset. So they’re just a little playful part of the forum’s history. They only relate to how many posts you’ve made. Many fora have something similar. Nothing to be concerned about.
If one had a serious philosophical objection to the idea of ‘ranking’ in general, presumably one would not join a forum where such labels are plainly visible in every single post.
