For the texturing I went for a simple wood version. A small boat like this did not have a fancy paint job.
I made some tabs for the inlay part so it could be positioned better if you want to make it removable.
The underside of the tabs was textured so there would be no white leaking and breaking the illusion.
Here I have tried out some of the paper minis I have.
As a final detail I have added optional oars and oar holders. What is a rowing boat without oars!
So this concludes my first foray into the naval vessels of the pirate age.
Next I want to do a longer version of a rowing boat, like the big ships had to transport a group of British soldiers or a bunch of pirates!
