Early WW2 German GS wagon/s colour/paint scheme
« on: June 11, 2018, 07:16:27 AM »
I recently purchased one of the above from Colonel Bill's site and am almost finished assembling it. I was going to paint it in wood colours but I wondered if the German in their efficient Teutonic manner, painted their wagons in a uniform colour e.g. Panzer Grey or a similar colour to match in with their armour and transport. Please feel free to share your thoughts.
Cheers,

IMO panzer gray , but i'm not sure of the color of the horses  lol
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Horse colours probably started off as matched within teams & mostly blacks or bays, but as losses mounted any old nag could be drafted in.

Several years ago I recall an original (ww1) german wagon for sale, retaining its original FIELD GREY finish.  Though I couldn't find a link to that wagon, here is an artillery limber which gives the same idea:http://www.lovettartillery.com/10.5cm_leichte_Feld_Haubitze_Limber.html

Quite a bit about them here and they do seem to be dark grey
