Gibby's Rackham Fixation (9/15/21 Resurrection!)...
« on: June 12, 2018, 09:46:52 PM »
Hello all, i've mostly been a lurker here for a while... I love that other people in this world also have large undertakings in miniature form. I have a larger collection of Rackham models that I am currently working through. I also have a lot of game works models that I have finished, but will look to rebase from their square bases at some point in the future. I also have collected many boxes of warlord and fireforge guys. I really like fantasy set in the medieval period from the late 1300s to the era of the first muskets. I play mostly games using Deus Vult rules or Dragon Rampant. I play the occasional skirmish using a revised hexless version of heroscape or Confrontation 3.5. I'm not into games with a million rules.... it robs the fun for me, and kills any chance of getting one of my gaming buds to play that game with me.

Currently I'm working my way through the entire set of Rackham Lions of Alahan mounted figures. Though I'll post some past work from earlier in the year of some Griffins of Akkylannia...

First my Knights of Alahan, the Red Lioness, Muscian and Standard Bearer, and Baron Dragan

Some fun shots of my last game of Dragon Rampant... rather large forces... The Lions were under attack at their stronghold from the Orcs in the west and the Goblins and a giant in the east... their only hope was to send for help from the Griffons... who arrived on turn 3 just as the Lions were engaging the Orcs and surprised them from behind... the other half of the Griffons force went to take care of the Giant and those pesky but numerous Goblins... what no one planned on were the lizardmen riders appearing out of the north and storming through the open gates... luckily there were some conscripts there to handle them... we are only probably 1/3rd through the battle, but have had fun so far.... played this with my 6 year old... i was the green guys and gave him strategy for his side... He's a quick study.

A couple Griffin Thallions that were also finished earlier in the year... they are a hardcore religious sect of the Griffins... Illuminati-like...

Thanks! I mostly paint to table top standard as I play with my guys a lot... basing is fun for me. I really enjoy creating mini dioramas. Each faction has a different vibe since they are from different territories.... I've since started on my dwarf steam cannon... really enjoying painting it up!

Steam cannon has been finished except for the base... i'm very happy with the results... the brothers are very happy to have such a capable piece of equipment next to them on the battlefield! While i'm getting materials together for the base I have started on one of my favorite Griffin sculpts, "The Inquisitor"....

Just finished the inquisitor... and I had time to knock out a Kelt Sessairs Giant Barbarian.

Nice work! I like your color choices, gives a consistent look to your fantasy land. That last bone-dude is really cool.
