tin shed gamer:
While I've been thread happy posting away merrily. I thought I might as well see if anymore can identify this ignoring the 40k tweaking it got decades ago.
It's white metal a very heavy and simply cannot support its own weight. It lives in the cupboard with piece of balsawood supporting it. If I left it out it would bend over and touch the base by morning.
In fact you can see how much its started to drop between photographs.

Nexus Raven Strider from the Kryomek range. Got two of those myself.
Those legs are indeed woefully inadequate. I've long pondered replacing them with brass tubing, but never got around to do so. The resin pieces, if a bit smelly back in the day with all that entails, are much better.

Thanks Chris, I've a bag full of figures I bought roughly around the same time All bald heads, vest, and baggy cargo pants .I wonder if they're the same . I do remember how smelly that resin was especially when you sanded it.

Do they have a little ridge on top of their heads, with a lens-thingie on the forehead? Then they are probably the penal troops from the same game (I forget the correct name right now). Got a bunch painted up as Genetic Infantry and some for Strontium Dog - those sculpts are extremely 2000AD-compatible, if a little bit daft in their poses.

Awful stuff that resin. I got a couple of their bunkers when I first started out in wargaming back in 1995. Hoo boy. Let it air for weeks, always wet-sanded, used multiple heavy-duty primers on it - today, it is okay. I recently got some more of the bunkers and those were much, much better - must have switched materials sometime.

Yep. They certainly do. I think they ended up in the lead pile because I never had time to make them fit the bases I had. Are they still on the go? As I spend most of my time sculpting I've not really had the time to even think about a sci-fi project let alone look at sci-fi manufacturers.
Mark.
