The small but bustling market village of
al-Hambar, south of Cairo, is under assault. A group of evil cultists calling themselves the
Fangs of the Serpent God are attempting to seize control of the place and its strategic location on the crossroads of two ancient caravan routes. The determined villagers have pooled their resources (hmm, this is beginning to sound familiar) and put out a call for help on the wire services and international short wave frequencies. Half a world away,
Los Diablos Locos, a league of unemployed western movie actors, stunt men, and studio grips, hear the call and, desperate for work, accept the commission. Hurriedly packing and departing on the evening Clipper, they have apparently misread the destination on their ticket vouchers, as they are under the impression they are going to Alhambra, Spain.
The Fangs are led by a Serpent Priest who was recently tossed out of the
Servants of Apophis for his incompetence. The
Diablos are led by a balding former matinee idol with a weight-related digestive disorder.
So, it's almost exactly like
"The Magnificent Seven," if the
Eli Wallach and
Yul Brynner roles had been played by
Laurel and Hardy. One of these boobs just has to win, right? (Spoiler: one does) You're gonna love it.
