Calendar- Who cares whose birthday it is?
« on: July 07, 2018, 11:42:24 PM »
A birthday greeting is a friendly gesture but what I really want in a calendar is a list of upcoming wargame events.  How about a list of top (worldwide) conventions? ...with links to the convention websites.... or maybe a feature: "on this day in history" etc.

Info like that has to be curated, copywritten, validated, edited and uploaded, whereas the birthdays can be automatically displayed.

Simply put, given day-to-day jobs and more pressing moderation and admin issues, we didn't have time for that.

On a smaller forum using the same forum type (SMF) we used to always put up happy birthday messages.
