I would like to take a moment to thank everyone following this project. Currently working on the cemetery and crop storage structures. Hopefully pictures in about a week.

Just a few more walls and about 25 more figures to paint.
Take care,
Greg

Have only one more major terrain piece to go and then on to the figures!

I like the idea of having the terrain ready ahead of the figures.  Might influence some of my decisions.

One thing though, the terrain in the movie was very much NOT flat.  Are you going to provide some variation in elevations?  Not strictly necessary for a game but with all your meticulous attention to the town, I think it is a good idea.  Your project though so do it your way.

I have contemplated some elevations and one of my friends is pushing for the hills behind the village. But since the scenario for this game is the final shootout where the elevations are minor concerns it will be window dressing at best. I will see how play testing goes and how much time I have after the figures are painted. Then I might do something with the hills. I would prefer to have a solid playable game first.
Thanks for your comments and suggestion.
Take care,
Greg

Glad to see you've added that vertical terrain.  I think it will really enhance - and properly place - your game for those who play in it.

Of course, if memory serves, the locals near where this was filmed were mad as hell at how they were portrayed and it would have risked life and limb for Hollywood to revisit the area for decades - unless I'm remembering the wrong film.

Hope the game goes off great when you put it on.  Good luck!

Thanks FifteensAway. This movie actually had officials from the Mexican government on set to clear every scene before shooting. They were to make sure the movie did not portray Mexicans in a poor light.

They would have never approved a remake.

You are correct there. The political climate of today would have precluded that project!

Great project and a great movie (the original, the remake just is ok!).

Thanks Grant. We were to have a play test this past Thursday but got snowed out. We are kind of an old group. This would not have slowed us down 20 year ago!
