Those Kryomek figures look like fun to paint, I might pick some up too.

I have been getting together some chest burster type things recently for my take on "Aliens" here.  I made some face-huggers from skaven tails and zombie hands, others old GW Necromunda Ripperjacks and some chest bursters from GW Tyranid Rippers.

Your take on a hive sounds like fun.  With your pedigree in that department I cant wait to see it... so that I can copy rip it off for myself ;)

Thanks for sharing and all that  :D

East Riding also has some suitable minis:

Not sure about the armed face-huggers, though  lol

Hi Matakishi, it doesn't take too long at looking at your site to work out that you're a huge fan of crossfire. What makes the system so appealing to you; I've never tried it or seen a decent review of it, so know very little about. I understood it was a WW2 game, how do you modify it for sci-fi and all the other games you do?

Crossfire is a results based system not a process based one so modifying it is very simple. Looking at your post on sci-fi skirmish rules you seem more interested in process based rules so, whilst I'd recommend Crossfire to anyone, I don't think it will give you the type of game you're looking for.

That said, there is a very good review here that may give you a better idea about the game.

Many thanks for that, I'll go and read away. I'd never considered dividing ruleset into results based and process based; that certainly gives some food for thought and actually makes a deal of sense now I think about it.

Okay, this completes the Xenomorphs as a sub project :)

Game reports are here:
Game one, a human victory:

Game two, not a human victory:

And, the changes to Crossfire I made in order to use the aliens:

All articles are copiously illustrated with fine photographs of course :)

I'm in awe!

What a lovely looking game!

I'm curious:

When you say "completes" does that mean the odds that you'll take this game out for a spin again any time soon are slim!?

No, just means that all the troops are painted and the rules are done. Now I'm moving on to the robots faction and completing the scenery and rules for the Greys.

This is going to be my game for BLAM! 09 so it will certainly be played many more times :)
