Hindu Gods and priests?
« on: July 01, 2018, 03:34:48 PM »
I'm starting a new project and could do with some advice- I need some Hindu priests in 28mm.  I had assumed that I'd find some in Pulp ranges, but no luck- has anyone come across any?

I also need a statue of Krishna that is 3" to 4" high and can be painted to look old. I've had a look on eBay- not seen anything yet that screams "buy me", any suggestions?

Lastly- Indian villagers?

Thanks very much for your help!

I live in Muswell Hill; if there was a new age shop it'd charge 50 quid each!  ;-)

However I have just seen some promising small resin(?) statues on fleabay...

And I see Eureka do some villagers.   Still no priests, though!

Tibetans aren't quite right; buddhists.  I need long beards and long hair!   :-)

I believe Eureka has some packs of Indian  civilians and you might try Foundry's Indian mutiny range.

Since Eureka's been mentioned already, maybe search for Sikh Wars as well?
Foundry has a particularly nice range, civilians included: LINK. Beware, though, these are rather tiny models, akin to other early Perry ranges.

EDIT: Oh well, too slow, only adding a link then. :D

Thanks the Villagers look pretty good; useful for a camp. Foundry I fear that, whilst nice, they will indeed be a little small.

Just for reference then, they're the same size as Warlord Games' Roman civilians or Foundry's (Perry-sculpted) Imperial Romans.

If you think the Foundry figures are too small, you may find the Eureka civilians are also a bit wee.

For the holy men, try Indus Miniatures, REL 01. Indian religeous men. They're slim in a half-starved kind of way.

How about Iron Duke Miniatures?
http://www.irondukeminiatures.co.uk/common-to-both-sides

The wagon drivers, water bearers and camel drovers all look handy types.
