Pulp Alley AAR: Perilous Island "The Forbidden City"
« on: July 08, 2018, 03:23:02 AM »
Finally got around to another Pulp Alley game.  Our last campaign game was a few months back, and I haven't done a formal AAR since last Fall!  Anyway, we are in the last Act now. The end is in sight.

This game started off with some pretty strong emotions.  The freshly painted, never before used gun team was killed somewhat randomly in the very first turn.  This upset the owner and started a vendetta.  We reviewed the "nightmare" rules at this point and mentally prepared to play the scenario again.  Read on below to see what happens!

Fantastic stuff! I love your write ups.

Real Life side note: I find Trotsky a fascinating character: what a different world we would be living in had he not been excluded from power in the USSR and ultimately killed by the NKVD.

Very nice and lovely table. Where did you get the centrepiece and gateway?

Thanks for the comments!  I'm not a huge expert on Trotsky, but thought he was a character with enough wiggle room that I could use to put him in this Pulp environment.

Beefcake, both the gate and table centerpiece (and the walls on both sides of the gate) are aquarium decorations.  Found them online (Amazon) in a post-Christmas special last year.  I keep my eye peeled for such decorations regularly now.

beautifully done in the comic-book style - the cover particularly - really ace.
