aye, I guess I should grow up a bit (hey, what's this website for again ...  ;) ), but tbh I like me fantasy to be just that. And Milius emphasised (with afore mentioned quote to the fore) much of what I don't like about 'proper' Conan.

the first film didn't capture what I like about the books at their best, but I'm very much out of step there, as I have no devotion to the original, unexpurgated texts, being very much of the mind that De Camp and co.'s 'revisions' and pure pastiches enhanced rather than otherwise.
Actually, nothing beats the best of the (early-ish) b/w comicbooks adaptations in the SSoC mag for me.

anyhow, guess I should shut up until I've actually sat through one of the flicks again!

Conan the Barbarian is an art house film disguised as a sword and sandal flick. Its a pitty that Milius never got to do his trilogy. He may be abit eccentric but he knows how to write good scenarios and he took all the right decisions production wise. If you check the original scenario by Oliver Stone you will understand.

Amazing paintjob for the barbarian.

Your Terrain seems to be quite cool. Have you another pic with your houses, walls etc?

Thanks.

The backdrop is just that I’m afraid. A little corner scene I made to take pictures of my Mordheim stuff. One day I’ll build a town in the same style.
