Btw the CTU-COINU was a pun on the fictional organization in the 24 series. After all it could be a source of inspiration for games in the new proposed subboard... (like the sequence with the AH-1Ws...   ;D )

In answer to number1section1,  me, Gailbraithe, and Ultravanillasmurf were thinking not so much the name was confusing, but the contents needed splitting because in our minds they did not fit well together.  lol

Thank you for letting us know.

I can understand the problems, such as more boards = more moderation.

I like the idea of splitting off the cop/spy genre from the strictly military.

Wouldn't that sort of stuff go into the "Pulp" board? Or is Pulp just up the 70s? You still see posts about 7TV turn up here every now and then rather than that board for instance.

Its an issue of stuff being too niche as well, where there may be too little posts to warrant opening a new sub. However, there's already certain boards here which don't see much traffic. Frankly even this sub's not a rave of activity every day and its one of the larger ones (at least from my own perspective).

For what it's worth I'm fine with that sort of stuff going in the Pulp Board. There are various Pulp sub genres (Pulp Noir, etc) and maybe modern crime stuff is a progression of the more easily recognised 'Pulp'.

I have always thought of Pulp being 1920-40, and being a precursor to Superheroes (Batman being a costumed hero) YMMV.

I can see how it could connect to SpyFi (Bond =>UNCLE|Avengers=>Smart).

Pretty much all modern adventure genre material is rooted in pulp fiction, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch to include modern stuff in the Pulp section...it just really seems focused on 1920s-1940s era pulp.
