So many hull options and variations of the sails?  :o
You are doing a pioneering work! With care and love for your projects!
What's not to admire? Congrats!

I have finished texturing the sails! It took a little more time than I thought but I think it was worth it.

I added details so that the sails are held in place if you want to move boats around the table with sails. The forsail rope is slotted into pins and the main sail boom is held by a mainsheet part.

Almost finished  :D Now all that is left are the swivel guns and adding the weathering and then another build.  A dirty, old, wooden gun boat!

Have added weathering layers and made some swivel guns and finally added the option for flags ... and then built an older looking version of a pirate boat!

How do you like this look?

And here I have put a little crew of Paperforge 28mm paper minis on board!

Time to start making the instructions and getting ready for release!!!

Thank you  :D I really  enjoy making these. Cannot wait to get started on the Sloop. Will be a little larger again and finally have gun ports for the cannons! But wait, wait, wait ... first complete this one ;D

I made a dark pirate version, to see how different a look I can create with the layers.

David Okum's zombie pirates worked really well for the black ship!

Ready to move on to a new ship now  :D

Both are gorgeous, but the dark pirate ship looks so evil!  :-*
In any case they look much different, so your layers work very nicely!
Keep up the good job!

This month I am starting with the next ship (or ship class) in the Pirate Fleet builder series: The sloop!

During my research I found that most Pirates did not have the classic huge Pirates of the movie screen ships, but rather had smaller vessels like the previous gunboat and the sloop. The sloop with it's simple yet effective sailing rig is the forefather of the modern recreational sailing boats. It was small yet fast and agile, so it was quite a match for larger vessels. But it was larger enough to carry cannons! So this will be my first ship with gunports and cannons.

Here is a first concept sketch I made to summarize my research.

I then started to work on the geometry and made a first prototype build (and also sketched some details on) at half scale (= for 15mm minis) as here all parts fit on on the pages unsplit.

I will make some minor adjustments. I find the stern cabin section is a little to short. But other than that one can see in which direction I am going.

I will start working on the finalized geometry and start to build a 28-30mm version with the larger parts. And then I am really looking forward to put some of the cannons I have built some time ago on deck!

In the meantime,
happy building!

Chris
