Is Blam still a thing?

If so when is it and how does one go about getting an invite?

Hola  :)

Yes, it’s still a thing. It’s a small annual UK get together for LAFers that takes place over a long weekend in October. There’s normally around 30 people there, and we play a range of wargames over the course of the three days with four or five different multiplayer games running simultaneously. It’s like a cross between a club night and a mini-con, only with that special LAF flavour, which involves the attendees trying to lay on fun and lovely looking games, all aided by copious quantities of food and drink, since the venue is the function room of a pub near Kingston-upon-Thames.

It’s not exclusive - over the last 10 years, I calculate we’ve had around 75 different members of the forum taking part. And we always welcome a few guests from other countries who make the long trip specially. Each year we gain a few extras and others fall by the wayside. We are however limited by the size of the room and its capacity (around 30) because we don’t want it to accidentally grow into a big convention. We are fully subscribed for the 2018 event as things stand. Possibly slightly oversubscribed in fact!

If you’re interested however, please drop a pm to Malamute or Eric the shed, BLAM supremos, and they will add your name to the reserve list (because there are always a few drop outs owing to Real Life events) and let you know about future meetings :)
