Very nice. I want too  :)

I know a guy who built a working monowheel looking mich like this one. It had one major flaw - even when leaning out le couldn't get it to turn. However, since this is such a cracking little model I'll certainlly suspend belief!

Glad you like it,as its left home today . So there's a good chance of it being ready for Partizan II, in August.

Wonderful figure and great execution... I do wonder about your grasp of physics though.... A steering wheel??

There are actually a number of these out there, and all the classic ones have a steering wheel.

well colour me wrong then!

Interestign how that steering wheel works then as the only way to turn a monowheel is to move its centre of gravity outside of the plane of the wheel.

In that pic you just posted i can't see a reason for the rider and the wheel to be at opposing angles. Unless thats a fixed position and the wheel cants over to get the front of it out of the line of sight and the rider moves the other way to counter balance it. Would be a nightmare to turn left in though as you have to lift the CofG to get the wheel to lean towards the corner. hmmm...

Anyway none of this takes away from the cracking sculpt that the OP rpesented.

Thanks for the picture YPU.

No problem, it took me a while to accept these things are fact not fiction as well!

I believe that the bike indeed turns by moving the centre of gravity outwards by swinging the rider and engine part to the side when the wheel is turned. I think that the one in the picture either has a tendency to move the wheel the other way (makes sense, turn 2 gears and both move) or this is simply the easiest position to hold the bike in as I'm not sure its actually moving in the picture, the foot on the other side appears on the ground? Pure speculation on my part anyway.

Yes, the bike in the above image is definitely stopped.

Oh,I like that monowheel.

Steering wheel in use

That was fascinating, and not just because of the bike. Did anyone else notice the map of France at the beginning included the Rhineland?

This is completely of the (mono) rail but looking at a map I think that's Switzerland? the little hook on the bottom towards Como is there in the abstract.

Geographically that would make more sense. Maybe it shows the reach of the TV station into French speaking Switzerland rather than a political map.

I'll shut up now and let people look at monowheels again...
