But I'm not sure about the placement of the chimney. At least in Bavaria (very close related to Austria), the chimney is placed inside the building to heat all rooms around the chimey and not on the front side of the building.

That's an interesting point. Some of the reference photos I've got show a chimney on the side so I suppose it's a later addition  ???

If you have picture than is seem ok!

The problem is that building styles changes very often in Germany and Austria. In an area of 100 Square Kilometers in south-east Bavaria I know at least 5 different styles of placing the farm buildings at farms, build in the late 19. and early 20. century.

Sometimes you can even pin down the area of a building by the style the roof is done, tile roof, slate roof, wooden shingle etc.
