Warzone - want to appear in print?
« on: July 18, 2018, 09:14:24 AM »
Hi all,

I'm a freelancer for Miniature Wargames Magazine currently doing a retrospective piece on the old Warzone wargame. The editor would like some pictures of the old miniatures, so I was hoping to reach out to the community to see if anyone would be interested. If you've got any painted figures from the classic line (so not the new Prodos stuff) that you'd like featured in the magazine, please get in touch. Pictures would need to be a minimum of 300dpi.

Thanks!
James

I have converted Warzone miniatures (namely Bauhaus Vulkans), that I don't use for Warzone. Are they acceptable?

Hi - thanks for the response. I'm not sure converted miniatures would be the sort of stuff we're looking for, but without pictures I couldn't really say. DM me and I'll give you an email address if you want to send some stuff over.

I assume you mean 300DPI and not 3000DPI...because that's insane, even for print :D

I have these oldies:

My stuff is friggin old and I have no idea if it's 300 PPI or not. I mean, it was from the old Warzone competition on the miniforums and was probably my first foray into taking pics of miniatures.

This stuff is probably unusable considering the digital camera's age (and my mediocre paint jobs) but I've got more if you want them.

That brings back fond memories! I need to check thru my stuff and see what I have. I may have some Tribes of Eden painted up too. Loved the 1st edition.

Thanks.

Probably not print worthy, but my entries from LPL 10 and 11...

This topic is great just to see some great classic models painted up...

I'm in agreement, love seeing the old figures getting exposure again whether they're used in print or not. Maybe just me but I just see so much character that seems to be missing in a lot of miniatures these days. I only barely followed the Prodos line as they seemed to be more generic in sculpting concept. Suppose I should take a look at what they've done with the line.
Loving seeing this guys resurface again.

One or two Vulkan Battlesuits, led by Victors with a comms droid from RAFM (everything is converted in some way or another) :) :

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for all the messages - great pics and really appreciated!

Re; Inso - sadly I think the level of conversion is too much; since the piece is a retrospective, pictures would need to be an accurate representation of the miniatures. They look great though!

Hopefully I could be of help - and I think I need to properly document my figures

And a shameless self-plug - I've made a group on Facebook for old Warzone and Chronopia stuff, saw a lot of nicely painted figures there, you're welcomed to join and ask there as well

I can also contribute pictures of boxes (:P), if needed.
