QRS for "A World Aflame"?
« on: July 20, 2018, 12:46:31 AM »
All,
Rules came in the mail today.  Flipping through them, I was surprised to see no QRS at the end.  Does anyone know if one is available?  Seems like a lot of flipping back and forth otherwise.

                                                                                      Nick

I fear that the lack of a QRS is a part of the attempt to re-capture the zeitgeist of the "Charge!" era of wargaming; a time when flipping back and forth was all part of the fun.

Hi Nick

My understanding is that the lack of a QRS was a restriction introduced by the publishers (Osprey). Interestingly I can’t think of any of their rules that have one. Certainly when I helped play test I was using a QRS.

I agree, one would be useful. My best suggestion is you create one set out how you like. Not ideal I know.

(Re vehicles, mine are all on bases and have their stats on the underside to help).

I have nagged the author (Paul Eaglestone of Empress miniatures) for a QRS, sadly to no avail.
he has gone over to other projects, & considering how little the writers get for Osprey rules I am not surprised. I (& my friends) really like the rules & one did a quick 'cut & paste' of the various charts,
BUT if anyone does a reasonable QRS I would like to know.
yes I know I could do one, but ain't half...LAZY.

I have the paperback edition.  Is it worth spending another $15.00 for the PDF to put together a QRS?

Well, I wouldn't be doing any more than a cut a paste job, so if yours is sharable, could you please?  :)

I doubt that would work, unless you intend to print the PDF and literally cut and paste the tables with scissors and glue, then scan the result. In my experience the copy function doesn't work with PDFs, presumably for copyright reasons.

Essentially, yes literal cutting and pasting was my intention.  Paul/Osprey seem to have no plans for doing a QRS, I know Paul feels it is not needed.

You're a brave man. I tried something like that with Triumph and Tragedy. The result wasn't very pretty.
