I believe that the white "greatcoats" were actually linen "dusters" worn over the waistcoat and instead of the habite longue , during the early part at least of the invasion of Spain and Portugal; they were reported by British observers at Vimiero, I believe.  If you have the book Military Dress of the Peninsula War by Windrow and Embleton, there is an illustration of a fusilier wearing one.  I'm just painting up an SP2 force of French infantry (a mix of Perry and Warlord plastics, plus Perry metal command and characters) in a similar fashion, in bleached bone with off-white highlights and trying to make the material look thinner than greatcoats!
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

First figures of 2020, half a dozen Brit flankers for the Peninsula. This gives me 18 which is a large unit in R&P and 16 for SP.
Either way Sgt Hakeswill will be knocking them into shape.
Theres lots of little details on these that can be easily missed and those bloody straps  ;D

I find it a tad easier with a white gel pen. I tend to work from dark to light
when painting a figure (to wargaming standards). Any bits the pen can't
get into become 'in the shadow' which works with the '3 foot rule' (i.e. look at
the figure from 3 foot away) If it then looks OK (does not have to look brilliant)
I will be satisfied with that.

There's a lot of detail on these figures that can be easily missed Christopher, I have to admit that I'm glad I only had a handful to paint  :)

How do you find Brigade Games and Perry match up?  Do you think Front Rank will fit?
