Here's my blog recap for last weekend's Historicon convention. I ran a successful game of "Sellswords and Spellslingers" adapting a Conan story, "Beyond the Black River." It was noteworthy for me because it was the first time I've ever run a game at a convention. My pal Jared ran a mega Space Hulk game taking three full boxed sets. The post includes lots of commentary and over 160 photos, with a number on terrain making and other game-related crafting.

Check it all out at my blog, Scrum in Miniature: https://miniaturescrum.blogspot.com/2018/07/historicon-2018-running-my-first.html

like your table - just enough to look cool.
got the rule-book - must check it out - lot of positive sounds about it.

some stunning boards / games in the photo's you've posted - the ghost archipelago one looks the best I've seen for that game (could tell it from the character sheets seen in one of the pics).

I agree! (Lots of photos of it on my blog post). And his Frostgrave board from last year's Historicon was even better! You can see lots of photos for the Frostgrave board at my recap from last year's Historicon: https://miniaturescrum.blogspot.com/2017/07/historicon-2017-my-first-gaming-con.html

Joe,

Hmm, that Conan looks awfully familiar... ;p
Love it, its like some small part of me was at those events!

I echo everyone elses sentiments, and yup your river is indeed pretty cool and its a shame it didnt get brought into play.
Good job, buddy!

I learned after the fact that a fella who is pretty active as a game designer/publisher in the OSR community, Joseph Bloch, was one of my players at Historicon. He wrote a really nice post on his blog about my game and Historicon in general.
