I painted these up in a uniform and equipment issued by a local dignitary and worn over their own clothing. I'm not sure how historically correct this would be but my impression is that there were lots of small private armies in India at this time and so it could be possible.
The figures themselves are absolutely fantastic and I think they could be easily used for conflicts well before the Mutiny

Dunno much about the period other than a shaky remembrance of the Sharpe novels set in India, but I do know that these figures look great.

They are perfect.What a great paint job. Definitely perfect for Tippo and his dad Hyder ali Khan.I will use to augment my Mysore Eureka troops. Perfect for my SYW India games.thanx for sharing

Glad to have made you aware of them, I could see these against the Sepoys the Perrys have brought out for their Egypt range as well.
