My write-up isn't complete but you will see that there are quotes from several German regimental histories. There are more to come when I get back from this trip.

Another taster, this time a French Corps commander relaxing in his purloined wicker chair:



No doubt the close proximity of the French heavy artillery battery upset the wine glass from time to time. C'est la guerre...

Two more pages have been added. Here is the sketch map from the history of IR143. It shows the dispositions of the German infantry companies from the regiment, as well as the lines of attack for the French tanks:



Here is the attack plan for French 129th Infantry Division. It illustrates the jump-off points for the various battalions and the objectives, which included Méry and the line of German defenders between Méry and Courcelles:
