Very cool! It reminds me of the old Airfix FFL fort from decades ago. I love the addition of the tents and well accessories, even if they are showing an Ansar / Beja warrior from the Sudan....

The 'Tuareg' are the old Esci Muslim Warriors set, which predominantly consists of Mahdists, as well as Pathans. Only one of the poses clearly represents a Tuareg, while some are pretty indeterminate.

The FFL figures are of similar vintage.

I recently almost-finished a little project aroun the fort, the airfix FL's and a bunch of varied locals (mustered from several relevant boxes).

Lol, that set even has Pathans and an exact likeness of Peter Otoole as Laurence of Arabia

Lovely find thank you. I think this set will sell well given how much old Airfix forts still fetch.

It's as much an orientalist hotchpotch as my project  lol

Exact, except for the beard.

Oddly enough, I'm currently repainting my set, on and off, though I have no idea what I will do with them if I finish them. I never bought the FFL set, and don't think I will now.

Me, I don't do plastic. Never have and never will.

However, I do think this is a clever idea. You get both sides and the fort all in one.

i think this proposal from Italeri is, as many others nowdays and above all if  coming from depressed no more creative almost fraudolent Italian market, a total cheat:

- which is the need to be obliged to buy with knife on our troath some overpriced already over exploited plastic minis many of them useless and  wrong for the period (ESCI Muslim warriors) plus an extremely costly roughly done bedouin tent to obtain a very basic , expensive, non iconic supposed to be FFL Fort ?
- the above mentioned supposed to be FFL or Desert Fort has nothing to do with the charming Airfix one..it has been designed (from a foreign firm expressely from Italeri  :?) with the only idea to save work and to shade the poor result with uselesses plastic minis that nobody buy anymeore...never saw such unrealistic and absurd battlements on this kind of fort..
knowing very well the menthality of Italian commerce proposals i strongly recomend to think twice and cross check everything before being deluded by their proposals...maybe it's only me but never find something that justify their overprice from mediocre proposals from Italeri, Waterloo1815 and Lucky Toys ( even the brand names are boring)..another well known 28mm Italian firm, on the other hand, is famous among us Italian wargamers to be specialised above all in piratising and selling minis from UK manufactures samples.....my suggestion ..keep away from Italian hobby related products its sufficient to buy good wine and look to nice girls if you really want to have something to do with Italy

Wow.

You see, I never knew I could replace modelling with wine and nice girls. Now I'm seriously re-evaluating the whole hobby.

It sounds like you're still depressed after the failure of gli azzurri to reach the World Cup finals - che peccato! - but surely it can't be all bad. For example, your country does produce some pretty good crime fiction, most of it about how corrupt and hypocritical everyone from the police to the Vatican is....OK, I'll have a rethink.
