Building robots in GASLIGHT

Chuck1372:
Hi
How do folks go about using robots and the like for GASLIGHT? I have some steam golems from Mageknight that I want to make into units. Regular units dont get a save but I think the robots would be a little more resistant to gunfire. I was just going to give them a save anyway along with a sustain roll for the unit in order to activate.
Id like to hear some other peoples ideas.
Thanks
Chuck

Are you using any other special rules?
I'd tend to think of them along the lines of conveyance/vehicles, with appropriate requirements of 'start' and 'sustains', as I question the reliability of any mechanical devices of such complexity.
I've gone blank on any mechanisms for personal armor; been awhile since my group resorted to the book, and we all joke about our 'modifications.'
YMMV.

The ones I have are man sized and will be organized into teh normal ten man groups.
I havent used any special rules yet. Ive only played the game a handful of times.

Man-sized or not, they are mechanical devices; if I were an opponent, and you treat them as 'non-men' men, extras with saves, I'd have reservations, but that is what I indicated with YMMV.
Make them as magical as you wish.

I figure Id give the whole unit a sustain roll along with a save of six. There will be a unit or battle group leader to keep them running. Id use the rule that unless a unit is equipped with dedicated anti armor weapons then there is a -9 SRM. That should give the effect Im looking for.
My plan is to run a large multiplayer game at a bi monthly game night. Im going to have a good variety of special stuff on the table so the robots will hardly be invulnerable.
